Unfortunately this work is under NDA, so information and images on the product itself can be slightly altered for sharing purposes.
Along with one other designer and an engineer, Amazon reached out to us for help with exploring a rising sector within their business. We helped develop an exciting product that will potentially be launching in the future.
Within a 5 month period, we would have weekly deliverables. Before beginning the challenge, we set design principles to always look back into. I was completely hands on and helped with wireframing, prototyping, visual designing, and user testing the product. We would consistly be in contact with the Amazon team to receive feedback, share updates and iterations, and continue to refine down the elements.
Leading the design from the very start is a rewarding experience for me. Although the timeline can be stressful, it forced me to budget my time and work constructively towards solutions instead of wasting time in debate. Another option I found extremely helpful was actually putting things to the test rather than running in circles with assumptions. Luckily, Amazon's product team was supportive in locking down the feature list early, giving us a stable goal to design towards. I also worked closely with our developer, making sure that we minimized development time wherever possible. Overall, working on this project was quite refreshing because I received the chance to design for a product that can potentially influence millions.
